Katie Nelson Stone
Katie brings 10 years of diverse experience in program management, event planning, and community engagement to the Greater Portland Inc team. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a double major in Family and Human Services and History, Katie worked as a Recruitment and Sponsorship Coordinator for a nonprofit adoption agency before becoming a Family Adoption Caseworker for the organization. Katie eventually returned to academia to receive a master’s in History from Portland State University, with an emphasis on the history of the City of Portland. For six years, Katie worked as Tigard Public Library’s Volunteer Program Coordinator.
Community engagement and event planning have been focal points of Katie’s professional career and she is excited to have landed at Greater Portland Inc. In her free time, Katie enjoys camping with her husband and dogs, reading, writing, doing historical research, and enjoying Portland restaurants.
