Portland Pet Food Company Goes Global Through Deal With Japanese Retailer

Kate McCarron, founder of Portland Pet Food Company, is a recipient of GPI's Growing Small Businesses Globally export assistance scholarships. McCarron was recently featured in the Portland Business Journal, excerpted below.
Portland Pet Food Company announced last month that it plans to sell its natural, human-grade dog meals and treats in natural food and speciality pet stores in Japan.
“This is a huge next step for our company, and we are so thrilled to now be selling our products internationally,” Kate McCarron, founder of Portland Pet Food Company said in a press release. “As shopping habits continue to shift toward natural products and healthy foods, people are doing the same for their pets.”
The international expansion was made possible in part by support from the Oregon Department of Agriculture and an export assistance scholarship from Greater Portland Inc.
