GPI’s “Meet the Mayors” showcases government, business partnership (Fox 12)

    February 20, 2024

Mayor Travis Stovall of Gresham and Mayor Jaimie Fender of King City at 2024 Meet the Mayors

Fox 12 covered Greater Portland Inc’s “Meet the Mayors” event in January, including interviews with Mayor Lacy Beaty of Beaverton, Mayor Joe Buck of Lake Oswego, and Mayor Travis Stovall of Gresham. The story, from reporter Drew Marine, touched on how GPI’s work in partnership with state and federal government helped draw some of the first Chips Act dollars to Microchip in Gresham.

“Part of the reason why we were able to attract those dollars here to Gresham at the federal level was the fact that folks, organizations like GPI, working with the state, working with our local businesses, our local business community to expand the visibility,” Mayor Stovall said. “I mean, without those types of investments, we’re not really showing up when site selectors come around.”
