PORTLAND, Ore. [8/18/26] — Greater Portland Inc (GPI) today announced that Alisa Pyszka will serve as the organization’s Interim President & CEO, providing experienced leadership and continuity following the recent departure of GPI’s President & CEO. Together with the GPI Board of Directors, Pyszka will steward the organization until a permanent President & CEO is appointed.
Pyszka currently serves as Executive Director of Portland State University’s Center for Real Estate, where she has established herself as a respected leader within the region’s economic development and real estate communities. She brings deep knowledge of the Greater Portland business environment and extensive relationships across the public, private, and civic sectors.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Alisa’s experience, expertise and standing in our region step into this role,” said Dietrich Wieland, Board Chair of Greater Portland Inc. “Her leadership will ensure that our work to advance economic growth and opportunity across Greater Portland continues without interruption.”
Pyszka is expected to formally begin her role as Interim President & CEO on September 1. She will continue her full-time leadership of PSU’s Center for Real Estate during her interim tenure.
“I’m honored to support Greater Portland Inc and its mission during this important transition,” said Pyszka. “The Center for Real Estate staff and leadership understand that a healthy economy is critical for a strong real estate market. This interim role complements and leverages our current work at PSU. I look forward to working with GPI’s team, board, partners and stakeholders to maintain momentum and continue advancing opportunities for businesses and communities throughout the region.”
Pyszka will make her first public appearance in her new role at Greater Portland Inc’s annual Economic Summit on September 22 at Avenue Portland. She will join regional leaders and economic development experts for the organization’s signature event, which brings together hundreds of business, civic, and community leaders to explore the opportunities shaping Greater Portland’s economic future. Tickets for the 2026 Economic Summit are available now.
In her role as Interim President & CEO, Pyszka will focus on providing steady leadership and organizational continuity, ensuring alignment across GPI’s core economic development priorities, including regional business growth, talent and workforce development, business retention, and public-private collaboration. Given the interim nature of the role and her ongoing responsibilities at Portland State University, external representation and strategic engagement will be coordinated in partnership with the Board and supported by other organizational and board leadership as appropriate.
GPI’s board and staff remain focused on maintaining momentum across the organization’s ongoing initiatives and partnerships throughout the leadership transition.
